songs about rain for kids

It’s Springtime…Let’s Sing About Rain

It’s Springtime…let’s sing songs about rain for kids.  Springtime is for rain, thunderstorms, flowers blooming, and even more rain.  There are so many fun songs and activities that kids will enjoy learning.  In this post, I am sharing some of my absolute favorites.  As well as learning the songs with the motions, kids can add shakers or other instruments that sound like rain, and can even make a thunderstorm by adding drums.

It’s Raining, It’s Pouring

It’s raining it’s pouring,             the old man is snoring.

Fingers wiggle back and forth,  point to your nose

He went to bed and bumped his head                                                                                   and couldn’t get up in the morning.

Hands together and lay your head on them, then bump your head on your hands, then pretend to pull the covers up and stay in bed.

Rain Rain, Go Away

Rain rain,                               go away

Fingers wiggle downward, point over your shoulders with thumbs.

Come again another day.

Walk in place and wave

Singing in the Rain

I’m singing in the rain, just singing in the rain

Cup hands over mouth and aim mouth at the sky

What a glorious feeling, I’m ch  ch ch ch  ch ch ch  ch ch ch  whoo, ch  ch ch ch  ch ch ch  ch ch ch  whoo!

Cross arms over chest like you’re loving it and then pat on the ch and on whoo put hands in the air

I Don’t Care if the Rain Comes Down

I don’t care if the rain comes down, I’m gonna dance all day. (Repeat)

Snap (4x)                                               Dance in place

Hey hey carry me away, I’m gonna dance all day. (Repeat)

Wave arms over head,  dance in place
