My ANTI-New Years Resolutions

Instead of stating my New Years Resolutions, I decided to take a different spin on things and state my Anti-New Years Resolutions.   I have so many things I want to accomplish this year from growing my blog, being a better mom and wife, investing better in friendships, and so much more.  But, there are certain things I know I will not achieve and that’s ok with me.

I will stop eating chocolate.

Um…what?  Nope just nope.  I love chocolate and chocolate loves me so there is no way in God’s green earth I will stop eating chocolate.

I will print the pictures I’ve taken.

So, here’s the deal with this one.  I have roughly 38789578 pictures that are on the computer or my cell phone that I have no plans to print in the near or distant future.  I’m one of those moms who does take pictures of pretty much every single thing my kids do.  But expecting me to actually print the photos and put them in a photo book or on my wall is going just a little too far.

I will workout 5 times a week.

Exercise is a priority and I plan to get back into working out after this crazy holiday season.  But…I am a mom of 3 little boys, am busy building my own business, take care of our life management-cooking, cleaning, laundry, and schedules.  Those momma’s who do it and are consistent with sticking to it…KUDOS! But as for me, I will just continue to workout 2, maybe 3, times a week.

I will be more extroverted.

This one’s a tricky one.  I come across as super outgoing once you get to know me.  But, once those kids are in bed, things get wild up in here.  The sweat pants come on, Netflix gets turned on, and no more talking to people happens.  If you give me the option of staying home and chillin or going out and hanging with 25 people, option A will always be my choice.

I am going to be lazy.

Ok, so even though I am the world’s biggest introvert, I am also a very hard worker.  Anything I do put my mind to this year, I will put 100% of my effort into it.  I plan to launch my beginning piano course, add more content to my music education lessons, and write relevant blog posts for my readers.  In my personal life and my business, I work very hard at whatever I put my hand to.

What are your New Year’s resolutions?  Or do you have Anti-New Year’s resolutions too?  I would love to hear all about them!

  1. I love these resolutions. It is so hard to come up with things that I can stick with. I love the chocolate one, that is so me too!

  2. I think I only have one New Year’s resolution and that’s to continue working my butt off on my blog. But does it count as a resolution if it’s something that I am already doing?

  3. love this! mine is to be more present. I ditched the phone for a few hours today just to try it out 😉 I need to step away from the social media shazam and get centered!

  4. This had me smirking and nodding in agreement the whole time 🙂 I can relate to the chocolate, pictures and introverting for sure. Loved that your personality was shining through each one, too! Very cute read.

  5. This is so cool! There are some things that I’ve wanted to change, but they just aren’t “me”, such as being more extroverted…can’t seem to do it!

  6. I actually read something once about how it’s more effective to make New Years resolutions of things you want to stop doing , rather than things you want to do. For example, if it was one of your resolutions to be a better mom, instead of saying something like “I’ll be nicer to my kids” saying something like “I will yell less”. I thought it was an interesting spin. And yeah, who wants to eat less chocolate? I’m with ya on that one. 😉
