What if… (a blog post from my heart to yours)

I normally blog about all things music education related.  But, I just had some words on my heart that kept coming to me time and time again that I needed to share.  I hope that this helps someone who is struggling right now, because I know when it’s over, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.  We will rise up and appreciate this life we’ve been given just a little bit more.

So, I wrote this post called “What If” from my heart to yours…

What if…

…you woke up and everything was different?

…you were told you can’t see your friends and family anymore?

…the church you attend every Sunday suddenly closes and you now watch online services?

…your kids schools close and you’re left to “home school” your children?

…your schedule and routine changes in an instant?

…you were forced to slow down and stay home?

…you look at your calendar and there’s nothing to write on it for the next month?

…people you know are getting sick with this awful virus?

…you still don’t know what’s going on so it’s hard to explain it to your kids?

…you miss life as you once knew it?

But then, what if…

…God is showing up in ways you never thought possible?

…you’re seeing others show up for others like never before?

…your kids are bonding and using their imaginations so much more?

…you and your spouse get to be home together all the time?

…teachers are serving their colleagues and their students without even being asked?

…you get to take the time to talk to people you haven’t been in contact with for a long time?

…you get to teach your kids and therefore get to see the way they really learn?

…you get to play games and watch movies you haven’t had time to before?

…there are random acts of kindness being shown all around you?

…in the midst of the overwhelm there is still a sense of calm?

…after all of this goes away you appreciate the little things like never before?

…we never take anything for granted ever again?

What are your what if statements?  What do you vow to never take for granted once this is all over?  Are there things you’re appreciating a little more right now?
